Got reacquainted. Dry day in Portland but barely above freezing. Fresh gas and a nice drive. Good start to 2022.

Tried and failed to take my coupe for a
spin around the block. My passenger rear tire won’t hold air. I knew it had a slow leak but it’s not so slow anymore. Discount tire and s apparently closed on Sundays.

Plan is to take it for a spin, drive to O’Reilly’s for some fuel stabilized, get the car weighed at the transfer station, then park for six months. After that I move back to new bay #3.

Man I have so much BMW junk. Just weighing the car is an exercise in repurposing the vehicle from storage shed
to operating automobile.

Had to add 5mm wheel spacers to the rears to clear my exhaust. These e37 wheels are ET23 and fit terribly I think my exhaust is way to chose to the wheel housing. Although I’ve never had a set of proper wheels on this car, the tire has always rubbed or come dramatically close to the exhaust pipe,

Thanks to @HB Chris for the impromptu Sunday morning G265 length specs. Sending my trans out for inspection and needed a shipping bin.

I’m finally able to drive again this weekend!

Found that the front left brake rotor is rubbing with the caliper though. With some wiggling I got it to clear but starting to think maybe the hubs aren’t fully seated or something.

Ordered a fender roller to better clear the lower ride height.

More engine cleaning.

That valve cover is a work of art

Fired up the car after a 580 day break. Our trash collectors are on strike. I’m going to take the trash up in the e9 and weigh it in the process.

These rollers (albeit nice rollers) fit just awful. I’ve seen these e38 wheels on plenty
of e9’s and I wouldn’t recommend them. These are 205’s up front and 225 in the back. The tires are large but it is the actual wheel that doesn’t clear the struts, not the tire.

I was going to make the trip today. but the fronts aluminum is still rubbing the strut. That is with 3mm spacers. I need to make some spacer adjustments in the morning before I head out.

Took 10 minutes for the exhaust cloud to go away. I don’t think it’s oil but it doesn’t really matter either way. The gas is 3 years old. I’m going to add some stabilizer tomorrow.

Finally test fit the proper cover king from Costco. My first was cut wrong. This one was apply haphazardly and still fits much better.

I have so much e9 crap. Emptying most of the car is an eye opener. Sadly this is only about 75% of the extra crap.

So jealous of your NOS day-glo green kid-at-play with red ball cap. I can't believe BMW stopped making them. Don't even bother with the W&N repro. It's not even TUV approved! I'm still not sure how they get away with selling them. And you should see where they put the stickers on it. No, no you shouldn't. Nobody should. Just take my word for it.
