Congratulations Steve. Your all original '74 Euro e9 is in outstanding condition. Great meeting and chatting with both you and Len. It was a beautiful day, and most enjoyable and productive for all of us.
Took NEW to BOXD to discuss detailing of the engine, the body and cleaning interior and vinyl roof.
Interesting to see the car under bright natural daylight…and even more interesting to see the thickness of the paint. It's confirmed that the car has 90% of it's original paint which is great. The bad news is that it is quite thin and so the detailing will have to be very gentle when it's undertaken.
Took her to participate in a kind of family reunion yesterday at the local BMW dealer (Otto's BMW West Chester). She's siting there on the showroom floor trying to teach her great-great-great-great grand daughters (those 2019 and 2020 cars) along side her how to be BEAUTIFUL. After looking around as I was leaving, I think it is a hopeless case! But - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and my my old eyes prefer the older/distinctive shapes (name me a current equivalent of Sophia Loren). She'll be there until we return in a month from hanging out a hundred miles west of Charlie. It will be interesting to see if any of the 'kids' recognize their shortcomings.
Thanks everyone. Working under the dash is insufferable... The center console gave me some fits yesterday. I've learned to walk away from the frustrations and take a timeout before I break something. It doesn't help that it is late August and the "feels like" is 105F+. Progress seems slow, but every day more pieces are installed on the car.
