Good luck with your surgery and recovery Mike. It took a while for me to feel like it was the right decision, but it absolutely was.Took a long drive and some pictures. Monday is knee replacement so wanted to get some good driving in
Yes, the car had been delivered to me with this cable disconnected, so good to have it back in commission. That reassembly just took longer than expected. Another tip - masking tape over the front glass of each dial so that you can flip them back and forth around the various obstacles back there without worrying about causing scratches+1 to the Reset Cable!
Yes you do want a third brake light...No pics on my activities today -
It was a nice day (more or less) in the Seattle area, so took the Coupe out for a spin.
As I was driving along, the earlier discussion on mechanics local to Seattle (for looking at a transmission) got me thinking that I had not seen John at Car Tender in a while (and he had never seen the Coupe) so...
I stopped by for a visit.
While there, took a look at a customers car in for service... 1975(?) 3.3Li (imported from Norway a couple of years ago I think). Was Fjord and looked really nice.
Interior was decent. Automatic... Overall - one of the nicest E3's I have seen in a LONG time (other than at a BMW gathering).
Drove down and back on the freeway. This car (with the M90 and 5sp) more than keeps pace with traffic.
Some thoughts -
I am getting ~20mpg with the M90 and some decently spirited driving. The original 2.8L with Zeniths would get max of 24mpg the few times I bothered to check. I really don't think 20 isn't bad for the increase in power that I have now.
I do really want to get a 3rd brake light to help me be seen just that much better.
Radio? What radio.... LOL
Heater works
Received a few thumbs up from folks, none from any BMW drivers though. Figures... LOL
All were from folks driving older cars... including what looked to be a high school age girl in a 1980's Ford who evidently has good taste. LOL Too funny...
Agree, it was a beautiful day in Seattle, perfect day for a drive. I'm looking forward to getting mine completed to get it out there! No pics on my activities today -
