72 CSi rotisserie restoration

Suspension is in and the engine about to go in...........need to clarify with SFDon if my old 3.0 mounts will be ok on the M90 engine. There does not seem to be a lot of clearance for rear wheels so will remove the springs and move the wheel up and down to see if it misses the Fender...........if not will be a cut and tuck when we go back to panel shop.
I have to say I am excited to see the ceramic coated engine in the Turkis engine bay I think it will look awesome...............love that colour and happy I made the choice.

Paintshop update.........inside of trunk and cockpit all finished....majority of the surfaces including roof coated with Dominator. The only area full gloss is rear window parcel tray/ rear wheel hubs (as I dont have elephant skin covers) and rear of dashboard. I love "Turkis" :) Exterior paint will go on in next few days and then bye bye to paintshop (and outgoing of many dollars) Then onto engine/gearbox/wiring/cooling system fitment........starting to see light at the end of a very long tunnel.

Paint guy told me....... " doors are gapped now,had to shave 2mm - 2.5mm from back of both doors from middle line up to the top"........ Now that car is on it's suspension. He also found that both sill covers were a couple of mm short to fit nicely so have reshaped to fit. That's it and then final coat in 1 week :D:D

Gents...........I have a question. My car was originally optioned without power front windows. Now that I have converted to power I need to find the rubber concertina conduits that fit between body and front end of door!! Did cars with this option standard come with such a conduit??? if so what do they look like and where can I get a pair from??? Any info would be appreciated.

I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Presently doing the opposite on my CSL.
Are you talking about the adjustable rubber bump stops?
A pic might help.

No.....I don't know what the E9 ones look like......I have a mate here on Gold coast sending me a pic of his ones.......but he said his were without the concertina look. No big prob......I will probably end up using something from a Jap car......just need right length and preferably round grommits each end to suit holes in my car. How's you CSL going?

Just a thick rubber/plastic sleeve of some sort

Words from my painter.............."all masked, just put some seam sealer in door shuts and along front panel where bumper goes.
early start in morning to get painted, should be done by mid to late morning."

Hell its been a long wait. You can't push these spray painters otherwise they arc up.

hj9 It's Poly paint....which I guess you are calling "Guide Paint"
Well at last painted.....painter worked from 6.00 am until 12.00 noon. 1 coat base grey/4 coats Tuerkis/3 coats clear. pics are straight off the gun.....he's done a great job. It will now be left to harden for a week and then polish. (not that it needs it) I am amazed at how he has managed to get the real lines of the car "jumping out" I am stoked :D
