Hey Paul, that looks amazing. The paint/finish laid down beautifully. I bet it will feel like a lifetime while everything cures before you can start reassembly. Can't wait to see it come back together!!!

Wiring loom laid in/air con console 3/4 done/dash in/ pedals in/engine trial fit as the a/c plumbing route needs to be sorted and dryer position as well/old radiator just sitting in as new alloy radiator from the states had a ding in the core so have to pressure test to make sure no leaks. steering in next week as waiting for rubber cup from W&N to come. Forgot to hand paint the "L" on the block of the M90 ........will do when engine comes out. The first 2 pics are when car left my place to sand blasters and then when it left Paint shop to current place..... the mechanics. 18 months o_Oo_O That's all for now.

Decided to Recore my factory original radiator so my brand new Ireland alloy unit is up for sale. Ideally someone in Australia would suit. I don't use the E9 Australia site as I am not a facebook fan.:) best to send a direct message to me. ..........cheers.

It's been a long haul......fit/make brackets/adjust here and there......always longer than you think .Anyway...........engine in and winds over with oil pressure. Suspension fitted. A/C comp fitted. Oil cooler and A/C Cond fitted and hoses run. Today had exhaust guy do my system (not your conventional rear system) Next week tuner comes to get engine running and we shall check A/C system after that. Hoping the end of next week all finished then back to Body Guy to buff whole car and fit doors/hood/trunk. 1 week there and then off to trimmers for upholstery work. I am putting central locking in so I got electrician to supply power for that so I can fit actuators after doors fitted. Will post pics of engine bay at end of next week.:cool:

Woohoo - bayed outlaw! Those side pipes. Those wheels. That shinee engine. That wild colour. Tell me you are going to do the interior in pumpkin, go on, I dare you.

Hi Don, yes I am so glad I chose that colour............I am thinking of putting a heat shield over those headers............don't like the idea of all that heat going upwards. Any comments?

I’ve got a set at the shop- with ceramic coating. Looks much like yours? Did you coat yours? If yes, you should have no problem as is including your b35 exhaust shields. Your pipes are glowing because someone is nailing the throttle for a long time. Won’t happen often. Too much heat will leave it’s mark in the local paint.
Ceramic is the answer.
As an aside the factory 7er oil cooler fits right up front but below the condenser.
I always thought the slots there were perhaps bespoke for the cooler.

yes they are coated. the engine is running lean at the moment and set up for max 2500rpm as the tuner will do final dyno tune after everything else is complete. Actually the engine ran very cool and found we did not need the normal radiator fan even though it is fitted. The thermo fan at the front handled it very well. RE paint.......as you can see we cut a bit more out for extra clearance from the headers and the paint seems to be surviving. I might have to up the side mufflers a bit as she has a bit of a roar and I think the wife might complain. but sounds nice.

Did you change anything on the D-Jet after installing the headers? I was under the impression for some reason that the factory D-Jet setup doesn't respond to headers very well. Better to keep the stock exhaust. Which makes no sense either

Djet has 3 MPS standards. Big cams screw up idle vacuum sending computer from idle to cruise setting
