Heading over to the shop today to get an update. I got word that they need parts for the bumper install. I thought I had everything needed.... Looks like another w and n order is coming. Curious if anyone deletes the black rubber trim on the bumpers. I am inclined to leave it off if that is an option and just showcase the chrome...and be very careful

uggh..no. Keep the black rubber on. You'd have to weld up the holes and unless you're going full on w/the CSL look, keep the rubba!

Interesting. I like the underriders. Matches those on the front bumper.

I'm a sucker for symmetry.

i removed the underriders on the blue coupe.... mainly because 1 is rusted.... they just give a very old , overkill detail...IMHO...like on prewar cars. Love the look now much more !
But then again, i even like it more without bumpers.....:)

Here is today's update. Making real progress!
I am not completely following the removal of the under riders in back. Can you be more specific? Sorry I am a bit dense.

Front bumper: Is this a 1973 or a 1972 bumpe?
If it is a 1973, I suggest you also put the black plastic end-plates on before you finalize fire/aft adjustments. The 72 and earlier use a diffeeent plastic part for the rearemds.

The front bumper over riders go on pointing up or down depending on the clear.

Rear bumper center finisher: as far as I know they are out of stock. Ask the forum for a new or used one

pretty sure you can get the rubber for the bumper(s) and metal strips to mount them from ECSTuning. Avoid W&N Shipping if you can help it.

The center piece, someone here in the Parts section was selling a newly-chromed one: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/rechromed-bumper-connector-piece.27933/

The Hydrodip is an interesting low-cost option; is do-able if the underlying wood is good and the current sticker/decal is completely gone, then it's definitely an option as opposed to re-veneering for $$$.

Rear diff-brace you may want to weld on there before putting the rear diff in: http://www.bimmerdoc.com/parts-finder/bmw/differential-reinforcement-for-e9cs-cars/

Also for the rear diff/subframe:

Good to have especially if you're lowering your car.

BTW, that's a 1969 Mustang.

Just got off the phone with Gary. He needs no 10 in the image on this page. It is the center piece for the rear bumper that holds it together. Oddly, it is not showing as available on W&N website. Any ideas?
